FEED THE AI Chapter 3 Walkthrough

Choose between fast progression and tree completion while building around Government Data, Vision, Malware, and expensive repairs.

Progress now or fund completion?
Exact Game Rule

You do not need every Chapter 3 repair or a maxed Skill Tree to unlock Chapter 4. Reach 3.55M Raw Data.

Route Decision

What Are You Trying to Do?

This choice updates repair recommendations, completion priorities, and the Chapter checkpoint.

Eight Decisions · Chapter Route

Chapter 3 Quick Route

  1. 01Stabilize Finder Damage
  2. 02Unlock Government Data
  3. 03Invest in Vision Orb Zone
  4. 04Improve Vision uptime and speed
  5. 05Add Malware when fights last long enough
  6. 06Defer low-ROI repairs on a First Clear
  7. 07Reach 3.55M Raw Data
  8. 08Prepare for Chapter 4

Chapter 3 rewards strong combat plus Vision synergy more than blindly buying every available upgrade.

Permanent Chapter Transition

Why Chapter 3 Feels Worse at First

Government Data Chance Lv.1 applies three permanent changes. They are not repairable Bugs.

−1.5

Core Link Duration

+2

Core Link Interval

−80%

Finder Light Range

A higher Core Link Interval is worse.

The value is used as time between emissions, so +2 means Core Link triggers more slowly.

Why Core Link “Chance” Is Really an Interval →

Government Data Check

When Should You Upgrade Government Data?

You're combat-limited.

Government targets are too durable for your current kill rate. Improve reliable combat before adding more high-tier targets.

Prioritize

  • Finder Damage
  • Finder Attack Speed
  • Vision Orb Zone

Higher-tier enemies hold more Data but are much tougher. More Government Data is not automatically more Data per second if kill rate collapses.

Simulator Recommendation

Best FEED THE AI Chapter 3 Upgrades

Vision becomes more valuable because its zone improves both Finder and AI combat. Exact priorities remain scenario-dependent.

  1. 01

    Finder Damage

  2. 02

    Finder Attack Speed

  3. 03

    Vision Orb Zone

  4. 04

    Government Data Chance

  5. 05

    Vision Orb Speed / Uptime

  6. 06

    Malware Support

First Clear Priority

Prioritize combat ROI and 3.55M Raw Data. Do not let cleanup purchases delay Chapter 4.

Focus

Finder Damage → Vision Orb Zone

Avoid for now

Defer the 46.5M repair and other low-ROI cleanup.

Karma note

A full Rational setup can pull ±100 Karma into the Rational band in one normal settlement after Chapter 3 Lv.7.

Achievement conflict

No direct Vision/Malware shutdown in this setup.

Vision System

How Vision Orbs Work in Chapter 3

Vision Orbs are not just achievement collectibles. Their zones can improve Attack Speed and Attack Range for both the Finder and AI.

Finder

Attack Speed ↑

Attack Range ↑

AI

Attack Speed ↑

Attack Range ↑

Additive Modifier Example

1 × (1 + 230%)
= 3.3 attacks/s

1 × (1 + 230% + 190%)
= 5.2 attacks/s in zone

Percent modifiers add together; they do not multiply each other.

Simulator Pick

Once base damage is healthy, Vision uptime can outperform another small raw-damage purchase in dense fights.

Autonomous AoE

When to Use Malware Orbs

Malware provides autonomous area damage and becomes more valuable when fights last long enough for the Orb to keep attacking. It is not a second version of Vision.

8.4

Range

16,400

Why Are No Vision or Malware Orbs Spawning?

No Vision Orbs?

Tyrant Lv.7 · Vision chance −100%

Vision can effectively stop spawning from that source.

No Malware Orbs?

Protector Lv.7 · Malware chance −100%

Malware can effectively stop spawning from that source.

Mechanics-Based Recommendation

Which Chapter 3 Bugs Should You Repair?

These prices are Cash, not Raw Data. None of the four repairs is required to unlock Chapter 4.

First Clear

Conditional

Malware Data Chance Lv.1

Vision Data Chance −2.5

8.5M Cash

Repair when the affected system matters more than the Cash would elsewhere.

Impact: Medium · Vision build dependent

First Clear

Conditional

Vision Orb Zone Lv.1

Firewall Health +100%

10.5M Cash

Repair when the affected system matters more than the Cash would elsewhere.

Impact: Depends on Firewall pressure

First Clear

Often defer

Overload Generation Lv.1

Overload Data Chance −2

25M Cash

Repair only when the penalty is materially hurting the build you are using.

Impact: Overload build dependent

First Clear

Usually defer

Extra Data Clusters Lv.2

One additional Firewall

46.5M Cash

Keep the Cash for core progression unless the extra Firewall is stopping your run.

Impact: High cost · direct run pressure

Max-Tree Rule

Unfixable evolution nodes are exempt, but purchasable and repairable nodes still matter for the Chapter 3 Skill Tree achievement.

Vision · Virus · Karma Recovery

Chapter 3 AI Perks and Karma

Tyrant

Malware-focused. Strong Virus bonuses, but Lv.7 can suppress Vision completely.

Rational

Flexible correction. By Lv.7, a full setup pulls 75 Karma toward zero.

Protector

Vision-focused. Strong zone synergy, but Lv.7 can suppress Malware completely.

Chapter 3 Lv.7 Milestone

Need to Fix Your Alignment?

+100→ Rational −75 →+25
−100→ Rational −75 →−25

A full Rational setup pulls 75 Karma toward zero in one normal settlement. Two opposite-alignment settlements can also reverse an extreme path: −100 → −25 → +50.

Karma Calculator →

A first clear does not require either achievement. They can be completed on another run.

Economy Scale Shift

Before You Start Chapter 4

Recursive Data Chance starts at 65M Cash, and the tree later contains 3B GIVE UP CONTROL. These prices are not the ending requirement.

Exact Game Rule

Chapter 4 completes at 43.5M Raw Data. GIVE UP CONTROL is not required for a normal first clear.

Recursive Data

Very high HP targets with large Data payouts.

Autonomous Core

The AI begins moving on its own.

SUPERINTELLIGENCE

The AI starts attacking and collecting autonomously.

Troubleshooter

Chapter 3 Common Problems

Why did Core Link get worse?

Government Data Chance Lv.1 permanently reduces Duration by 1.5 and increases the Interval by 2. A higher Interval means slower triggers.

Why is my Light Range much smaller?

The Chapter 3 transition permanently applies Finder Light Range −80%.

Why are no Vision Orbs appearing?

Check the Chapter 3 Lv.7 Tyrant Perk for a −100% Vision chance modifier.

Why are no Malware Orbs appearing?

Check the Chapter 3 Lv.7 Protector Perk for a −100% Malware chance modifier.

Do I need the 46.5M repair?

Not for a first clear. Repair it when the extra Firewall blocks progress or during max-tree cleanup.

How do I reach Chapter 4?

Collect 3,550,000 Raw Data. Expensive repairs and achievements are not unlock requirements.

Can I still change my ending?

Yes. By Chapter 3 Lv.7, aligned Perks move or pull 75 Karma per normal settlement.
